Work with us
British Council is UK's international organisation for educational and cultural relations and manages a wide range of activities covering the arts, science, technology and education. Through our work we aim to build and develop long-term relationships with governments, organisations and people to provide mutual benefit and promote a wider knowledge of the UK and the English language. All jobs in the organisation contribute towards these aims. All our work is concerned with people and involves quality and customer care.
The British Council is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and is keen to reflect the diversity of UK society at every level within the organisation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community. In line with the British Council's Child Protection policy, any appointment is contingent on thorough checks. In the UK, and in other countries where appropriate systems exist, these include criminal records checks. We are committed to employing disabled people.
Teach with us
Tunisia plays a major role in the British Council’s English Language Teaching work across the whole Arabic-speaking region. The British Council in Tunisia operates at Tunis offering a selection of adult and children’s courses.
Accordingly, we are regularly looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated TEFL-I qualified teachers with two years teaching experience looking for an interesting place to live, work and develop. Teachers are expected to teach the full range of courses for Young Learners and Adult courses, including General English, Conversation, Business English and IELTS preparation.
British Council Tunisia is also a regional training centre and there are excellent opportunities for further development in various directions. The centres run CELTA courses for external candidates. For British Council Tunisia teachers, sponsorship is available for suitable candidates to complete The Distance DELTA, and the Young Learner Extension to CELTA as well as attend regular INSETTs and various management and general training courses. For more experienced teachers, there is a supported environment to start into teacher training and regular coordinator opportunities.
If you are interested in teaching with us then please apply directly through the e-recruitment site.
