Partnership for Heritage

The Cultural Protection Fund – a £50 million fund managed by the British Council in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. The fund aims to help to create sustainable opportunities for economic and social development through building capacity to foster, safeguard and promote cultural heritage in twelve countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

In Tunisia, half a million is invested in the ‘Partnership for Heritage’. The project intends to document and protect the tangible and intangible heritage of these key geographical areas, close to the border between Libya and the region of Tataouine in Tunisia, which were linked in Antiquity and developed similar traditions and occupation patterns.
